Zohar CleanTech Wins MUNIEXPO 2025 Innovation Award
Zohar CleanTech was named a winner of the MUNIEXPO 2025 Innovation Competition, Israel's largest local government conference.
The MUNIEXPO Innovation Competition brings together Israel's leading technology and municipal innovation companies each year. In 2025, three winners were selected from across the field. Zohar CleanTech was among them. The win recognizes Zohar's gasification system — a compact, modular platform that processes municipal and agricultural waste on-site, converting it into usable energy without transport, sorting, or landfills. Each system reduces carbon emissions by approximately 2,000 tons per year. Winners receive the Local Government Innovation Award and are invited to exhibit at MUNIEXPO 2025, taking place June 17–19 at Tel Aviv Expo — the largest event in Israel where the private sector, local government, and central government share one stage. The award committee, led by venture capitalist and social entrepreneur Yasmin Lukatz, noted that the winning projects deliver real value to local authorities — addressing environmental, planning, and economic challenges municipalities face today. For Zohar CleanTech, the recognition reflects a broader shift in how local governments think about waste — not as a logistics problem to be exported, but as an on-site resource to be managed.
